Our Horses

Rebel

Another Kentucky born and bred beauty. Rebel is an April 2005 model, bay roan, and built right. He has an awesome start and comes to us from Jamie Brown in Marion, Ky. Jamie puts a nice handle and big stop on one and this guy is no different. He will be easy to work with and athletic as Moon was when we got him. We are looking forward to seeing how Rebel fill out and changes.

Smokey

Smokey is a 4 year old, 14 3 hand, 1050 lb, flashy grulla gelding. He has shoulder barring, frosted mane, line back....the works. Started heeling and coming along. Big stop and soft in the face. Moves off your leg and will do any thing you ask. We have also used him to move cattle and sort, covered alot of country in the Sandhills of Nebraska and doesn't know the word "quit". Cute little head, kind eye and a big hip. So much cow he should have horns. This guy is tough and will go all day. Great mind for a young horse. Rides with loose rein and has a big, big heart. Keep your eye on this guy.

Reno

Reno is one of those horses that never asks "why" when you give him a job to do. He is all business. At 15 years old, he is truly in his prime and is one you can pasture rope off of, sort, take to a branding, and then head and heel off of just for fun. He is just a fun horse to have. Unfortunately, Reno suffered a stifle injury in March 2007 and is recovering well. He has also had a cataract in his right eye from an old injury and recently lost sight in that eye. Reno will be living a life of leisure as a "Tage horse" here at the ranch as he has put in his time.

Slider

Slider is that "one in a million" you just don't find. At 4 yrs old, dark gray, and built thick, he has awesome manners, excellent confirmation, and brains! He will watch a cow, and is not lazy in the least bit. Been tracking cattle, logging him, roping the sparky, breakaway roping off of him, heading and heeling a little. He has room in between those kind eyes for a mind! We are thrilled to have him and special thanks to Glen Shaw of Chanute, KS for the opportunity to own Slider. Look at how much he has changed in just one year!!! See Slider at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YySRtSmhP_k.

Woodroe

Woodroe is 2 years old and already he looks like a 4 year old. He is riding around well, been used to move cattle, rode out in the pasture, used as a turn back horse, and even roped his first calf this fall out in the pasture. He will be a nice, thick built, even minded gelding when he matures. We will continue riding him on the ranch and maybe try to heel a few steers off of him when he is mentally ready to go.

Mick

Mick 2 years old and one of the most respectful 2 year olds I have seen in a long time. Tage leads him around, can make him back up and set his feet like a halter horse. He has a great mind, and just like Slider and Sarah, he is willing to please. Can't get enough of these OSU horses! Mick is riding around nice and we will use him this winter alot to check cattle. He is going to be a big success at whatever he tries. See him and Tage at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g2uhMdLMSs.
