Our Horses

Reno

Reno is one of those horses that never asks "why" when you give him a job to do. He is all business. He is just a fun horse to have around and had "been there, done that". Unfortunately, Reno suffered a stifle injury in March 2007 and is recovering but will not be 100%. He has also had a cataract in his right eye from an old injury and recently lost sight in that eye. Reno will be living a life of leisure as a "Tage horse" and running with his mares. He has put in his time and now gets to kick back a bit.

Slider

Slider is that "one in a million" you just don't find. At 4 yrs old, dark gray, and built thick, he has awesome manners, excellent confirmation, and brains! He will watch a cow, and is not lazy in the least bit. Been tracking cattle, logging him, roping the sparky, breakaway roping off of him, heading and heeling a little. He has room in between those kind eyes for a mind! We are thrilled to have him and special thanks to Glen Shaw of Chanute, KS for the opportunity to own Slider. Look at how much he has changed in just one year!!!

Mick

winter 2008       summer 2009

Mick 2 years old and one of the most respectful 2 year olds I have seen in a long time. Tage leads him around, can make him back up and set his feet like a halter horse. He has a great mind, and just like Slider and Sarah, he is willing to please. Can't get enough of these OSU horses! Mick is riding around nice and we will use him this winter alot to check cattle. He is going to be a big success at whatever he tries. See him and Tage at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g2uhMdLMSs. And Trent on Mick at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYcUal0EpyY.

Dirt

Dirt is Tage's horse. And what more must we say. He is a March 2001 model, bay gelding with a super mind and a big heart. He is the most well mannered child's horse I have seen in a long while, but knows the difference between Tage and Trent. Tage can ride him around and "put put" on him, and then Trent can heel a few steers off of him as well. Not only that, but Dirt boasts the background of cutting blood galore, and, at one time, was in cutting training himself. He will "watch one", so hang on when you sort.

Tim

Tim, or CD Colored Light, is a 2006 model tobiano paint gelding with awesome bloodlines. Just about 14 2 and 1050 lbs. He has lots of get up and go, but still sweet minded and tolerable of Tage and all the commotion around our place. We have used him in the feedyard pulling sick cattle, and outside covering lots of ranch country. He is started heeling and getting better by the day. Our goal for Tim is to get him heeling and breakawaying strong and he is already showing us he has all the ability and brains to do everything we ask.

Pistol

Pistol Sun, is a 2006 blue roan gelding that we bought from Jamie Brown. Jamie always sends us nice horses, and if you look on our Sold page, you can see that in Moon and Rebel. Pistol will finish out the same way. He is coming along nicely, lopes a nice soft circle and drops his head for you. He has been used on the ranch and in the feedyard and we have started heeling the Heel O Matic on him. Has some growing to do, but he will be a nice one when he is all done changing and growing.
