TrainingThe Ransom Ranch is pleased to offer training services. We accept a limited number of training horses, giving each horse special attention to assure they reach their full potential. Our program focuses on developing each horse into a confident, athletic, willing partner, and one that will succeed in a long career - whatever vocation you may choose for him/her. We don't profess to be "trainers" by any means, and understand, that like some people, you may have already had a bad experience with a "trainer". We prefer to consider ourselves "horsemen" or "horsepeople" and want to be up front and honest with you in fulfilling your expectations for your horse. If we feel that our abilities, cannot produce the results you desire, we will tell you. If we feel that your horse(s) ability is not what you interpret it as, we will voice that as well, rather than leave an open ended situation where we continue on with your money. We try to offer the blue collar version of everything and present things in a common manner. We offer excellent riding facilities, including a 200 x 80 indoor barn, roping arena, round pen, 14 box stalls and several small and large runs. But most importantly, we offer miles and miles of Sandhills land and hundreds of cattle to look at. We feel it is important not only to develop the fundamentals of a horse and expand upon them, but also to develop their mind as well. We don't follow any one set method and don't claim to hang our shingle out as a "trainer", but if you are looking to send us a horse you feel you want to see ride out and handle nicely, we can accommodate that very easily. Your horse will be fed the finest alfalfa hay, Sandhills meadow grass, and grain. In winter weather he/she is blanketed. In summer, your horse will be inside under fans during the heat of the day and let out at night to play. We ask that you set down and tell us your realistic goals for each horse depending on his/her age and mental maturity and together, we can develop and realistic plan in which everyone's expectations are met. Contact us regarding future plans for your horse and we can help you to develop a plan that will enhance the ability of your animal physically and mentally.
